Day one

July 26th, 2022

Meet Bert & Ernie

These two babies were picked up this morning by one of our fosters after wandering into someones garage last night (July 25th) looking for help.

They are severely emaciated, covered in scars, wounds, their paws are burned and they’re missing toe nails

They’re estimated to be 6 months old at only 15 & 16 pounds. Bert was given a body score of 1 out of 10 and Ernie a body score of 2 out of 10.

They are currently being hospitalized at Perrysburg Animal Hospital on IV fluids and antibiotics. They’re going to be hospitalized for a few days and will be re-evaluated to see if they can go to their foster. The estimates posted can quickly change depending on their progress.

We are in need of more dog fosters for situations like this.

Day 2

July 27th, 2022

These two boys are little fighters!

They are doing well and eating well.

Ernie is coming out of his shell but Bert is very nervous, understandably, with everything he’s been through.

Perrysburg Animal Hospital is continuing to monitor them and slowly working on getting them to a place where they can eat normally before they can go to their foster.

We are so in love with these two! They deserve the world and, when time, a family who will spoil them!

Our friends with CUDDLY reached out to us to start a campaign for them! Donations can also be made through them at:

Day 3

July 28th, 2022

Sweet boys Bert and Ernie are continuing to go in the right direction and do well!

Bert is still on a IV catheter but Ernie decided for the staff at Perrysburg Animal Hospital that he no longer needed his haha

We all had a feeling Ernie would feel better faster than his brother because he was in better condition.

We are hoping that Ernie will at least be able to go to his foster home soon!

Please continue to send good healing thoughts towards our little fighters

Going to their foster home!

July 29th, 2022

BOTH boys got to leave their stay at Perrysburg Animal Hospital today!!!

Bert was able to have his IVs taken out this morning and they wanted to make sure they both did well and ate well before being released today.

As you can see they're both so happy to be able to leave together and not be separated.

We can't thank the staff enough for taking care of these two!

Their journey to healing isn't done and they have a ways to go still.

They have follow-up appointments coming up really soon to check their progress and will keep you updated on them!

First day in their foster home

July 30th, 2022

The boys are doing great in their foster home <3

You can see here how sweet they both are!!

Ernie is really coming out of his shell and Bert is slowly learning.

It’s heartbreaking to see them go crazy over food like it’s their last meal.

Right now they are being fed with a slow feeder until they realize they’ll never go hungry again!

Vet Visit

8/30/2022

Our team has had a very busy day today and our founder, Brooke, is currently up at MedVet Commerce/Detroit picking up Phoenix.

You know who else had a checkup today?

Bert and Ernie!! (Bert’s name was originally spelled wrong in the system so we had to wait until everything got changed over.)

They have almost doubled their weight from when they were found! Ernie weighs 25 pounds and Bert weighs 26 pounds!!

They remembered the people who took care of them at Perrysburg Animal Hospital when they were hospitalized right after being rescued.

And today they were healthy enough to get their first set of vaccines! They are scheduled to be fixed at the end of next month!

Our boys have come so far & we are so proud of them!

Almost Ready

“I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up to No Good”

Ernie, Howie (big foster brother), & Bert as they get caught going to chase a groundhog

Look how AMAZING our boys are looking!!

Can you believe it’s been 7 weeks since these two were found emaciated, covered in scars, wounds, their paws are burned and they’re missing toe nails??

They are the luckiest boys and we absolutely adore them!!

These two will be up for adoption in a few weeks!

Almost Ready

9/30/2022

A little #transformationthursday for our boys Bert and Ernie!

These two were once sad, abused, emaciated and covered in scars. They weren’t 100% sure about people and who to trust.

Today they are both about 30 pounds completely healed and scar free! Though training is still being worked on they are little lovers.

They got neutered today and are now ready to looking for a forever family to call their own!

Time for a forever

10/1/2022

Sweet boys Bert & Ernie have been through SO much and they’re only about 7/8 months old now.

They are going to be hitting a huge milestone this week after being found emaciated in July.

They are now ready to find a forever home!

A home visit & fenced in yard is required for them.

They’ve been good with cats and their fosters dogs but would need a meet and greet with any potential adopters dogs. They are doing well with training but needs someone willing to still work with them as they continue to learn to be happy puppies. Something that they did not have the chance to experience and are still learning.

Bert Big Day!

10/9/2022

Baby Bert
Our once 15 pound emaciated pup now at a healthy 30 pounds is heading to his forever home!!

His beginning stages of life have been very rough but the future is looking bright with his new mom, Brittany.

She’s so excited to give him the happy life he truly deserves and the time he needs as he learns how to be a puppy/dog.

Congratulations baby boy!!!

Ernie Big Day

Today we made it official and Ernie is heading off to his forever home!!

We want to thank everyone for your support with our boys! From emaciated to health boys
We couldn’t have taken care of them without YOU and our amazing fosters!
